yes I've got the desert in my toenails

Arrived in southern Baja Mexico late Thursday evening (view from the plane)
This is the casita I'm renting, out in the middle of nowhere
This dog is "Perdita." I was thinking of the concept of Perdition a couple of weeks ago, and remembered, at that time, that the word "perder" in Spanish means "to lose," which gave me some insight into what perdition is. But Perdita is a "lost dog" (a stray) who showed here up a month ago, apparently, and is a great dog. She showed me the way to the beach and we played with multiple sticks.
It is both dry and humid here--I don't know how that's possible. Maybe it's the time of year, but the desert is pretty green.
Perdita saw the dead sea lion before I did. Chomped it half, I reckon, by a shark.
macabre and fascinating...oddly no flies, and altho its face was largely gone it seems to have been somewhat preserved by the water
 ubiquitous local driftwood style
water as warm as August in the Atlantic where I grew up, probably 70° - but capricious currents and drop-offs
 few houses - no people
